Police are investigating a serious incident involving two Year 9 students at the Gozo Secondary School today, following a stabbing that has reignited concerns regarding safety within Maltese educational institutions.
The altercation reportedly involved a Maltese student from Gozo and a foreign national, both in the ninth grade. Police were summoned to the school premises immediately following the incident and have confirmed that an active investigation is underway.
The incident marks a worrying trend, following a similar stabbing that occurred late last year at a school in Pembroke. The repeated nature of these violent episodes has led to urgent calls for increased security measures.
The condition of the victim has not yet been officially released by authorities.
