Malta with the largest increase in nightly bookings in Europe

Malta has recorded the largest increase in nightly bookings in European Union last year according to the latest Eurostat statistics. Malta was competing for this place against Cyprus which came in the ninth place for 2025. The total increase of nightly bookings in Malta last year was up by 10%. The Eurostat figures are also a reflection of last year’s record-breaking tourist arrivals in Malta hitting up to 3.79 million tourists recorded and 24 million nights booked up until November according to the latest NSO figures released today.

Malta was followed by Poland with 7% and Latvia with 7.1%. The lowest decreases were recorded in Romania with -1%, followed by Ireland with -0.6%.

A total of 3.08 billion tourist nights were recorded in all of the EU in 2025 with a 2% from the previous year.
