Up to 200 African Black migrants held captive in the Libyan city of Kufra have been freed. The migrants spent up to two years under captivity and several arrests took place.
Kufra, near to the border of Sudan, is commonly known as a smuggling hub. This is not the first time that raids took place in Kufra over migrant-smuggling and kidnapping.
Ina separate operation, the Libyan security forces in collaboration with the Attorney-General clamped down on migrant smugglers in the Quaia region. Separately, a suspect has been also arrested over a mass grave found last week in the town of Ajdabiya.
