The European Council meeting that started yesterday ended at 1Am and a press conference was given by the EU Commission President and Council President soon after. EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen confirmed that the US will not be issuing tariffs against European states over Greenland. President Trump also ruled out an invasion during the World Economic Forum.
The EU Commission President also said that the EU will be doubling its budget for Greenland and will also upgrade European Arctic security with a new plan.
The Commission President said that the European nations were strongly united together in their position with regard to the US over Greenland and she underlined that Europe took a very resolute, united and firm position without taking escalatory measures.
A new aid-package for Ukraine to support its electricity and power infrastructure will also be rolled out.
