Rizzo knocked out in Last 16 at Junior World Snooker Championship

Xavier Rizzoโ€™s run at the World Snooker Federation (WSF) Junior World Snooker Championship in Sofia, Bulgaria, came to an end after he was eliminated in the last-16 stage.

Rizzo faced a tough challenge against one of the tournamentโ€™s standout performers, 16-year-old Thai player Prin Ratmukda. The Maltese youngster managed to level the match at 1โ€“1 by winning the second frame, but Ratmukda then took full control, claiming the next three frames in succession to seal a 4โ€“1 victory.

The frame scores were: 24โ€“68, 66โ€“32, 1โ€“79 (71), 31โ€“76, 7โ€“58 (53).

Ratmukda has so far dropped only one frame in the entire competition โ€” the one he conceded to Rizzo.

Rizzo will now remain in Sofia ahead of the Menโ€™s World Snooker Championship, which begins once the Junior and Womenโ€™s events conclude. More Maltese players are expected to travel to Bulgaria in the coming days to take part in the menโ€™s tournament.
