Xavier Rizzoโs run at the World Snooker Federation (WSF) Junior World Snooker Championship in Sofia, Bulgaria, came to an end after he was eliminated in the last-16 stage.
Rizzo faced a tough challenge against one of the tournamentโs standout performers, 16-year-old Thai player Prin Ratmukda. The Maltese youngster managed to level the match at 1โ1 by winning the second frame, but Ratmukda then took full control, claiming the next three frames in succession to seal a 4โ1 victory.
The frame scores were: 24โ68, 66โ32, 1โ79 (71), 31โ76, 7โ58 (53).
Ratmukda has so far dropped only one frame in the entire competition โ the one he conceded to Rizzo.
Rizzo will now remain in Sofia ahead of the Menโs World Snooker Championship, which begins once the Junior and Womenโs events conclude. More Maltese players are expected to travel to Bulgaria in the coming days to take part in the menโs tournament.
