While the Permanent Secretary of the Foreign Affairs is engaged in a far east Asian diplomatic tour, Malta’s Deputy-Prime Minister Minister for Foreign Affairs Ian Borg has travelled to Monaco and met with the city-state’s leaders including Minister of State Christophe Mirmand and Foreign Affairs Minister Isabelle Berro-Amadeï. According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Discussions revolved around tourism and cruising, yachting, the blue economy and digital innovation.
The Deputy-Prime Minister also signed an agreement with Monaco’s Minister of Finance and Economy Pierre-André Chiappori to extend a 2018 agreement that aims to prevent double-taxation and increase collaboration on the detection of fiscal violations and tax avoidance.
The Maltese delegation also met with Monaco’s Minister of Public Works, the Environment and Urban Development, Céline Caron-Dagioni to discuss potential collaboration on infrastructural projects.
