Prime Minister Robert Abela has announced his details for the Marsa regeneration plan which was announced last week. He described the new yacht marina planned in Marsa as the “People’s Marina.” The potato shed will be turned into cafes and restaurants and new hotels will be built.
A new cultural centre is also planned at the current site of Customs House that houses the customs duties office. The Prime Minister said that the Grand Harbour regeneration project intends to create jobs in the culture industry but no details were provided.

The Marsa regeneration plan is part of the Labour government’s Vision 2050.
