Watch: Malta celebrates Feast of St Paul’s Shipwreck

Malta is marking the Feast of St Paul’s Shipwreck today, 10th February, a national religious observance commemorating the arrival of St Paul on the islands in AD 60, according to Christian tradition.

The feast recalls the biblical account in the Acts of the Apostles, which describes how St Paul was shipwrecked on Malta while travelling to Rome.

Religious celebrations are taking place throughout the day, with the main events centred in Valletta. These include church services and a procession featuring the statue of St Paul, organised by the Collegiate Parish Church of St Paul’s Shipwreck. Clergy and representatives of religious organisations are leading the liturgical celebrations.

The feast highlights Malta’s long-standing religious traditions and its historical links to early Christianity in the Mediterranean region.
