Karl Cini, the previous accountant at Nexia BT, who is now being charged over multipole corruption and money-laundering cases including the 17 Black case and the Progress Press case . Karl Cini was the previous partner of Brian Tonna of Nexia BT.
Earlier today, news came out that Karl Cini was about to host a new AI podcast show called the “The AI Lounge” that is being produced by the University of Malta. Some Maltese news outlets seem to have pulled down the news item as soon as it was published. The information online about the show seems to have been deleted but metadata about it is still available online showing that it was also promoted on several platforms and social media websites.
Karl Cini is also an employee at the University of Malta – which is unusual but not surprising coming from the University of Malta. Karl Cini along with Brian Tonna was the architect of the money-laundering vehicles used by Joseph Muscat. Keith Schembri, Konrad Mizzi, Yorgen Fenech and others over their corrupt deals. His name was revealed by Daphne Caruana Galizia when the Panama Papers were coming out.
Karl Cini is still being charged for money-laundering and hasn’t been held accountable for his crimes. It is also highly unlikely he will ever be held accountable for his crimes under the current Labour government due to the extensive and ongoing cover-ups of the corruption conducted by members of the Labour Party.
Instead, Karl Cini has been rewarded but also slightly so as to keep him under control and forcefully silent as he depends on a public salary granted to him by the Labour government. Note, that an individual from the University of Malta who employed him, is also asking for an annual salary of €140,000.
