A woman and a 15-year-old boy were taken to Mater Dei Hospital on Tuesday after being injured in two separate traffic accidents, police said.
The first incident occurred at around 5.00pm in Triq l-Isperanza, Mosta. Preliminary investigations showed that a collision took place between a Niu motorcycle ridden by a 54-year-old woman from Mosta and a Jeep driven by a 73-year-old man, also from Mosta.
In the second incident, which also occurred at around 5.00pm in Triq il-Kappuฤฤini, ฤฆaลผ-ลปabbar, a collision took place between a Mazda driven by a 24-year-old man from ลปurrieq and a scooter ridden by a 15-year-old boy from ฤฆaลผ-ลปabbar.
A medical team provided assistance at both scenes, and the woman and the teenage boy were transported to hospital by ambulance for further treatment.
They were later certified as suffering from grievous injuries.
Police investigations into the incidents are ongoing.
