San Ġwann driver in critical condition after early morning crash

A 39-year-old man from San Ġwann is in critical condition after being injured in a traffic accident in Triq Tal-Balal, San Ġwann, early on Saturday morning.

Police said the incident occurred at around 3.00am.  Preliminary investigations indicate that the man was driving a Volkswagen Polo when he lost control of the vehicle and collided with a parked car.

A medical team provided assistance at the scene, and the driver was transported to Mater Dei Hospital by ambulance.

He was later certified as suffering from serious injuries and is reported to be in danger of death.

Police investigations into the case are ongoing.

    These trucks left just anywhere with such a dangerous rear with sharp metallic edges can be seen allover Malta. Should these vehicles not have some sort of protection on their extremely dangerous rears ? An accident can always happen as in this unfortunate case but seriously something needs to be done with these trucks and how they are left lying just anywhere.
