The three historic expressions of Vice-President Kaja Kallas at the Munich Security Conference

During this year’s Munich Security Conference, the EU’s High Presentative and Vice-Commission President Kaja Kallas did not hold back in freely expressing her views and positions, especially when it came to the US government’s bluster and anti-woke rhetoric against Europe.

Apart from stating her opinions and positions clearly and succinctly, the High Representative also gave off some facial expressions that perfectly projected her political position in response to statements made by US government officials. Here are the Vice-Commission President Kaja Kallas’ historic facial expressions during the 2026 Munich Security Conference.

Suspicion

Vice-President Kallas gave a suspicious gaze at US State Secretary Marco Rubio as he gave a very pro-European speech.

Boredom and frustration – (UPDATED, I think the ideal word here is “irritation”)

The Vice-President elicited an expression of boredom and frustration as the US Ambassador to the UN Mike Wallace said that the US avoided a nuclear war between India and Pakistan.

Unimpressed

The High Representative also seemed to be very unimpressed with JD Vance’s remarks last year at the conference when he claimed that Europe no longer has free speech.
