It has just occurred to me that Lord Louis Mountbatten was always rumoured to have visited Malta for its brothels, particularly for young boys. I never gave this rumour any serious attention, but it was well known among many people from the older generations. Various people used to tell me about this rumour, and some even had detailed stories to back it up, including about a secretive brothel in Gฤงargฤงur.
Being just a rumour I never took it seriously. There are many myths and legends and people can say many things. Conspiracy theories are easy to conjure, but it was rather striking that all the conspiracy theories about the debauchery, cruelty, psychopathy and wheeling and dealing of the elite all turned out to be true according to the Jeffrey Epstein files.
There are also many rumours about Louis Mountbatten including that he was bisexual, or even gay, and that his wife, Edwina Mountbatten, had a relationship with Jawaharlal Nehru- a rumour that many have also denied.
Maybe it would be good recording the rumour in the light of the fact that Lord Louis Mountbatten is the great-uncle of Andrew Mountbatten.
