The photos deposited by Lorry Sant of Astrid and Dom Mintoff did not remain in Parliament and went missing

One important fact surrounding the saga about the history of the family of Judge Lawrence Mintoff is that the photos that were deposited in Parliament by Lorry Sant eventually went missing and are no longer present in the archives of Parliament. This basically means that someone removed them.

Removing documented archives especially from deposits of parliament is highly irregular and counter-productive to historiography. Defending “family honour” should not allow the prescription of the destruction of historical archives.

Dom Mintoff had a very promiscuous life and slept with many women including wives of his cadres and inner circle. This was also during a time when extra-marital affairs became more widespread as people indulged in them as a status symbol of secularism and liberalism. The civil-secular legislation that implemented Labour in the 1970s also came with a change of culture and behaviour especially among Labour Party members. Those were very different times.

Nowadays, we find nothing scandalous about Dom Mintoff having an extra-marital affair and being photographed with his topless sister in-law. What’s even more scandalous is that they were on the yacht of a Maltese businessman, the owner of Marsovin, Anthony Cassar.
