Former US President Bill Clinton has given testimony to the House Oversight Committee over his relationship with Jeffrey Epstein, that was unraveled in the release of the Jeffrey Epstein files.
Hillary Clinton also gave a deposition behind closed doors. Speaking to reporters after her deposition she said that Ghislaine Maxwell attended her daughter’s wedding as a guest of an invitee.
Clinton stated she knew Maxwell, “casually, as an acquaintance”. The Former US First Lady and Secretary of State also stated that, “I never met Jeffrey Epstein, never had any connection or communication with him.”
Both Bill and Hillary Clinton stated under oath that they were unaware of any sexual abuse occurring on Jeffrey Epstein’s private island or aboard his former private aircraft.
The former President further affirmed that, had he possessed knowledge of such criminal conduct at the time, he would have reported it to the appropriate authorities.
Some Republicans accused the former President of selective memory, but President Donald Trump, who is also extensively featured in the files, seemed to be more sympathetic.
This all comes after the Clintons agreed to testify publicly.
