Call for papers on Medieval Malta

Dar Camilleri is seeking unpublished papers and latest research on Medieval Malta for a publication that will celebrate Professor Godfrey Wettinger (1929 – 2015 ). The publication will be published next year.

The publication will feature his one of his latest papers: Aspects of the daily life in Malta. Godfrey Wettinger was Malta’s foremost Medieval historians with publications including Place-names of the Maltese Islands, The Jews of Malta in the Late Middle Ages and Slavery in the Islands of Malta and Gozo ca. 1000 – 1812.

Papers should have relevance to the period of Medieval Malta (circa 400 – 1500AD) and can also revolve around linguistic, artistic and archeological themes.

The publication will be released in 2027, and the deadline for paper submissions is 15 July 2026.

This publication is being funded by the National Book Council (Malta).
