Multiple party sources: general election to be announced on 1st of May

Multiple party sources from both sides of Parliament have informed The Maltese Herald that the general election will be announced on the 1st of May. This has been confirmed by multiple party sources.

It is not in the Labour Party’s custom to announce early general elections. The last time that the Labour Party announced a general election was in May 2017, when disgraced ex-Prime Minister Joseph Muscat’s friends and associates suspended a plan to murder independent journalist Daphne Caruana Galizia.

Political parties are bracing for the announcement during the mass Labour Party rally to be held next Friday on May Day.

“Labour Partyโ€™s custom to announce early general elections”.. Are you serious (what about 1998, 2017)? Also Labour has a record of NOT completeing a whole term, plus record of resigning PM (Mintoff 1958, 1984; Muscat 2019).
