Crucial week for Maltese Futsal as finalists confirmed and Premier Semi-Finals begin

It proved to be a significant week for Maltese futsal, with four semi-final matches played across the menโ€™s competitions, confirming the finalists of the Challenge League and producing the opening results in the Premier Final Four.

University Futsal and Luxol Take First-Leg Advantage

In the elite futsal semi-finals, University Futsal claimed a solid 4-1 victory over Marsaskala. The winners controlled much of the possession throughout the match, although Marsaskala remained competitive thanks to a disciplined defensive display.

In the second semi-final, reigning champions Luxol St Andrews delivered a commanding performance as they overwhelmed Birลผebbuฤกa 11-1. Luxol showcased their quality, experience and attacking power in a one-sided encounter that sent a strong message to their rivals.

The return legs of both ties are scheduled for Friday, May 1. Despite the first-leg scorelines, qualification is still not mathematically decided, with victories in normal time capable of forcing extra time or penalties.

Historic Final for Malta Futsal U19

In the Challenge League semi-finals, Malta Futsal U19 reached their first-ever final after a dominant 11-0 win over Sliema Fort Fitness Futsal.

Luke Urpani was the standout performer, scoring four goals in an impressive attacking display.

In the other semi-final, ลปejtun Corinthians defeated St Venera Lightnings 7-4 in an entertaining and high-scoring contest.

Challenge League Final Set

As a result, the Challenge League final will see Malta Futsal U19 face ลปejtun Corinthians in what promises to be an exciting showdown for local futsal supporters.
