Darren Debono’s junk spotted outside Hurd’s Bank as illegal activity makes a big comeback

Darren Debono’s sanctioned junk-vessel which had been used to traffic Libyan oil has been spotted outside Hurd’s Bank earlier today as illegal and unusual activity in the area makes a comeback. The vessel owned by Darren Debono’s company, Andrea Martina, is still under sanctions by the US Treasury.

The junk vessel, Zeus, is owned by Darren Debono’s company, Andrea Martina, which is under a Court’s freezing order. The vessel however has recorded several trips this year in Malta after its arrival from Italy late last year. Darren Debono is sanctioned by the US government over Libyan oil-trafficking and his assets were seized by the Maltese Courts over pending money-laundering cases.

Last year, the Maltese government lost a case in Court over the deregistration of the vessel, with the government and the Minister of Foreign Affairs Ian Borg failing to give reasons regarding national interests over its requested deregistration.
