Earlier today, the Nationalist Party announced the candidature of George Vital Żammit, an academic and political philosopher who has long been involved with the PN, including serving as one of its regular intellectual voices. It is encouraging to see the PN promoting people like him, and he certainly deserves to be elected.
He is exactly the kind of politician Malta needs right now, alongside technocrats and competent individuals. He is reasonable, moderate, and well aware of fundamental political concepts. He is also an academic at the University of Malta.
It is definitely good news for Maltese politics that he is becoming more publicly involved.
