Malta Under-21 national team coach Davide Mazzotta has announced his final 22-man squad for next week’s international friendly away to Moldova.
The squad has been selected following an intensive training camp held after the conclusion of the domestic season, with Mazzotta and his coaching staff using the opportunity to assess a wider pool of players ahead of future commitments.
Malta will travel to Moldova for a friendly match against the hosts on 4 June at the Municipality Stadium in Orhei, with kick-off scheduled for 18:00 CET.
The fixture forms part of the Under-21s’ ongoing development programme and will provide another valuable opportunity for the young Maltese players to gain international experience against foreign opposition.
Mazzotta had initially named a provisional squad of 31 players, which has now been reduced to a final travelling party of 22. The selected group includes a blend of players competing in the domestic leagues and several youngsters currently plying their trade abroad.
