Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky was in London, yesterday, meeting with the European Leaders of the UK, Germany and France. British Prime Minister Keir Starmer hosted the trio at Downing Street to discuss the the current state of the war and diplomatic efforts with Russia.
President Zelensky is seeking more anti-ballistic missile air defenses to counter Russia’s escalating attacks against cities and civilians. with regards to the diplomatic front, President Zelensky told Sky News that Ukraine is ready to accept a ceasefire on the current frontlines.ย However, the war in Ukraine is set to continue as negotiations brokered by the US broke down and Vladimir Putin refuses to meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
Negotiations with Russia are yet to begin once again. However, Ukraine is in a much stronger position today than it was last year, as it has begun to make significant and impactful gains on the frontlines. The latest successes are coming from the Zaporizhzhia front, where more territorial gains were registered during the weekend as the Ukrainian Armed Forces increasingly gain the advantage over the Russian army in the region. These territorial gains are also being made thanks to long-range Ukrainian strikes behind the Russian frontlines that are impacting Russian logistics.
The Novorossiya route, which takes supplies from Russia all the way to Crimea, has been made unusable by Ukraineโs long-range strikes, and the Chonhar bridge connecting southern Ukraine with Crimea has also been destroyed by Ukrainian long-range strikes.
Meanwhile, Ukraine’s long-range strikes against the Russian oil industry deep inside Russia are also continuing. Russia is retaliating in the usual manner by launching drones at Ukrainian civilians and cities, but no civilian casualties were reported in the weekend with most of the drones being intercepted.
