For a moment, I genuinely forgot that Jeffrey Pullicino Orlando has an iced bun as Chairman of the National Skills Council. Earlier today, he posted a defamatory post against me, saying I “brutally attacked a government minister for nothing”. He posted a picture of the minister, who appears to be pregnant, and this supposedly should serve as a political prerequisite not to criticise her.
So, a government official is literally inciting violence against a journalist, and supposedly this is fine? Jeffrey Pullicino Orlando will most probably keep his post as a government official following this incident, having served the Labour Party well with his online trolling.
In a normal country with a decent government, Jeffrey Pullicino Orlando would be forced to resign, but then again, we are not a normal country, and even the fact that he is a government executive is a bizarre and very unusual thing in itself. Jeffrey Pullicino Orlando is a dentist. He won favour with Labour when, in 2013, he saw the winds changing and jumped onto Labour’s bandwagon. He is still there today, trolling and sulking to extract as much as possible from the government.
It’s not that he needs a government salary — he is decently well-off and does not need to work for the government — but greed is what drives him to pretend that he is an executive between the long hours he spends filling and pulling out teeth at his clinic. Trolling and riling up hatred against Labour’s critics is the only thing that can win him favour with the government to receive his iced buns.
