The government has replied to a judicial protest by the Chamber of Lawyers which accused the authorities of conducting interceptions of conversations between lawyers and their clients in prison. The reply, written by the State Advocate, says that no such system exists in prison.
The Chamber of Lawyers has called for a strike at the Courts on Monday over this issue.
Jason Azzopardi has written a cryptic message along with the publication of the judicial protest and I still need to understand the whole issue in more detail. I am reliably informed that this issue was started by Charles Mercieca, who is Yorgen Fenech’s lawyer.
