When the National Book Council actually took decisions in consultation and democratically

This is difference between then and now, when a cultural entity took decisions democratically as opposed to taking decisions in an arbitrary manner without consultation with stakeholders.

This photo is of the National Authors Congress in 2019 following a congress with publishers.

No ministers, no politicians, no lobbies or special interest groups. Literally every relevant stakeholder was involved.

I was forced out of the government system after my success in government enabled me to take a strong position with the National Book Council following the murder of Daphne Caruana Galizia. I was hounded out, besmirched and defamed and the government incentivised many in the industry to take a position against me in return for jobs and resources.

Everything went downhill since then.
