Most of the island of Gozo had to face long power cuts, some which lasted for 3-4 hours last night. Residents of Victoria, Xewkija, Kercem, San Lawrenz, Xaghra, Sannat, Nadur, Qala, Ghajnsielem and Fontana reported power cuts starting around 9pm with some even in the middle of the night.
Several residents who spoke to The Maltese Herald also lamented changes to the voltage and sudden surges of power which may cause damage to appliances.
It seems that all the bragging by Energy Minister Miriam Dalli on a resilient power system is not ringing true for the population of Gozo who are suffering unduly this summer yet again.
