Daphne Caruana Galizia remains one of the most important and consequential writers in Malta’s history. The Labour Party and its allies have spent considerable money, resources and energy trying to diminish her legacy, including by reducing her work to that of a mere “blogger” in an effort to delegitimise her journalism.
Others have sought to neutralise her importance by arguing that not all of her work was beyond criticism, or that some of it was personal, excessive or mistaken. But the significance of a writer is not measured by whether every word they wrote was flawless. It is measured by the courage, influence and public value of their work. On those grounds, Daphne’s place in Maltese history is secure.
Daphne Caruana Galizia was one of the greatest Maltese to have ever lived, and one of Malta’s most formidable writers and editors. No cheap propaganda or pseudo-intellectual crap will ever change this. She deserves a monument in the heart of the capital city alongside with Manwel Dimech.
I find those who hate her, including the army of criminal lawyers, who are literally being paid millions of Euros as they scheme, conspire and deceive to defend her accused murderer as so truly pathetic and little. Fucking minions.
