David Abela was not murdered simply to dispose of him. He was killed to send a message. He was found with his testicles stuffed in his mouth — a sign often used by the Mafia to convey a warning.
David Abela was also allegedly Daphne’s source over the FKK Acapulco story and had no known business disputes.

David owned a ground handling license at MIA. Transport Malta had at that time only issued 3 ground handling licenses..
He was also passing through a very messy divorce with his second Russian wife. Nevertheless as you rightly said, David was sexually tortured before getting killed on his matrimonial bed. The way he was killed was to send a message to keep one’s mouth shut with the Mafia.
What is the point of repeating that Mr. Abela was allegedly Daphne’s source for the Acapulco story when none other than Matthew Caruana Galizia has very recently – and very explicitly – stated that he was not Daphne’s source?

It would be good to remind readers of all the murders and attacks we had during this time – I remember we had quite a few, including some other bombings.
