UPDATED: 23:11. Matthew Caruana Galizia has explicitly and publicly denied that David Abela was Daphne’s source. We are reproducing his comment below.

UPDATED: 18:08. there is a denial by a relevant source that David Abela was Daphne’s source, but my information was sourced from sources close to David Abela. Unfortunately I can not explain further with respect to all sources.

Has Chris Cardona ever been questioned by the Police over the murder of David Abela? He is certainly a person of interest in the case given that David Abela was the source of Daphne Caruana Galizia for the FKK Acapulco story involving then Economy Minister Chris Cardona and his assistant Joseph Gerada.

Chris Cardona is currently in China trying to avoid to take the witness stand in the trial of Yorgen Fenech.

On January 30, 2017, Daphne Caruana Galizia reported that Minister Chris Cardona was at the FKK Acapulco brothel in Germany following a conference. He was joined by his assistant and consultant Joseph Gerada and the two men engaged in a threesome with a sex-worker at the brothel. The Minister was also identified by his Che Guevara tattoo on his back. Joseph Gerada is still a government employee to this day (watch below).

Daphne’s source for the story was David Abela, a Maltese businessman, who was found murdered at his home in Swieqi two months later. The press had reported that the Police stated that David Abela had no known business-related disputes or difficulties that could have provided investigators with a lead.

David Abela was found tied to his bed dead with multiple stab wounds. The killer, who was captured on surveillance footage entering the house while masked, was never identified.

The FKK Acapulco story had deeply unnerved Chris Cardona, as it caused him considerable embarrassment. He denied the allegations and even filed a vexatious libel case against the journalist, and froze all her bank accounts. His excessive actions prompted the Front Against Censorship to lobby the government to amend the press law. We eventually succeeded, but only after Daphne was murdered in October of that same year.

The murder of David Abela was never resolved and no one was ever taken to Court over it.

    This theory has been doing the rounds in gossiping circles for quite some time now. Only you, Mark, had the guts to report it. Wonder how it never reached the Police Commissioner’s ears! Perhaps now he will be obliged to investigate. But I won’t hold my breath. Probably, Cardona is part of the patt imxajtan, unlike Yorgen Fenech.

    This is on the level of the murdered and butchered accountant in the Lorry Sant circle. The same insticts are switched on when labour is in power, because the police do nothing, unless foreign police get involved by chance or by mistake. Connecting the dots of this person habits , friends and coincidences , the legendary comment, “Elementary Mr. Holmes ” will turn up.
