Some details that had not previously been fully reported about Yorgen Fenech’s arrest concern the extensive help and support provided by his uncle, Ray Fenech, during Yorgen’s attempt to leave Malta as the police were closing in on him.
Ray Fenech is currently the chairman of Tumas Group and is therefore also responsible for the group’s shareholding in Electrogas, which continues to receive government payments to operate the gas-fired power station.
Tumas Group is currently conducting an extensive public-relations campaign to promote alleged positive aspects of the family and the group in an effort to avoid negative publicity arising from Yorgen Fenech’s trial.
