A man in his 40’s has died in a tragic workplace accident after being crushed by falling tiles in Qormi on Wednesday morning.
The fatal incident happened at around 8.30am in Triq il-Wied, Qormi.
Police officers, officials from the Occupational Health and Safety Authority (OHSA), and a medical team were immediately dispatched to the scene.
Despite the efforts of emergency responders, the 40-year-old was certified dead at the scene.
Police have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident, while officials from the Occupational Health and Safety Authority are also carrying out their own inquiry into the incident.
