A 74-year-old man has died in a tragic accident after the back door of a truck fell on him in Dingli on Friday morning.
According to police, officers were called to Sqaq Kalkara at around 10am following reports of an industrial accident.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the truck’s metal rear door unexpectedly fell, pinning the man against the bucket of a heavy machinery vehicle.
Emergency responders attended the scene, but the man was pronounced dead on site.
Duty magistrate Monica Vella has been informed and appointed an inquiry into the incident, while police investigations are ongoing to determine the circumstances surrounding the fatal accident.
