13 deaths by hyperthermia recorded yesterday alone

Dozens of persons most of them sick and the old-aged are dying as a result of hyperthermia with 13 deaths recorded of such cases yesterday alone.

Heat stress can induce heat stroke and other conditions especially among vulnerable individuals.

The deaths bring up memories of 2023 during when deaths by heat increased significantly during record Summer temperatures.

Malta recorded its highest-ever July temperature of 43.3°C on Saturday, 18 July 2026.

The Nationalist Party is demanding the Energy Minister’s resignation over the repeated electricity blackouts which have happened consistently and year-on-year during her tenure.
