Following a long day during which the capital city, Valletta, was left without electricity, we learned from the Labour Party’s media arm—since Enemalta has remained completely silent and virtually inaccessible—that the capital was left without power because two of its connection lines failed during a period of high electricity demand, and that Valletta’s connections to the electricity grid still need to be upgraded.
Energy Minister Miriam Dalli announced the upgrade of the electricity grid in February 2022.
It is even stranger that the electricity-grid upgrade was announced in 2022, yet the capital city has still not received the necessary upgrade.
