Islamist crashes minivan in crowd at Berlin Gay Pride March

A suspected man known to Berlin police as a member of the city’s Islamist scene, drove a white van into a crowd near Berlin’s Christopher Street Day Pride celebrations on Saturday night, killing one person and injuring at least 16 others. Several victims suffered life-threatening injuries.

The vehicle entered Berlin’s Tiergarten shortly before 10 PM, from Lennéstraße, and struck several people along a park pathway before crashing into a tree. The driver abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot, prompting a large-scale police manhunt. Police operations to locate and detain him were continuing.

Witnesses also described suspects coming out of the van and attacking people with knives.
