War is flaring up in Yemen after the Houthis announced a blockade on Saudi Arabia’s ports and are attempting to block the Red Sea. Saudi Arabia has conducted airstrikes against Houthi targets in Yemen while the Houthis have fired ballistic missiles at Saudi Arabia.
Greece announced that one of its Patriot batteries has intercepted a ballistic missile that targeted Aramco’s oil refinery in the Yanbu region.
Shortly before the weekend, it has been reported that Kuwait and Bahrain launched airstrikes against Iranian missile targets in a first joint-Gulf attack on Iran since the war on Iran begun in February. The US also conducted airstrikes across several cities and coastal areas in Iran, including Sirik, and other maritime military capabilities.
The US has retained its blockade for Iranian ships in the Strait of Hormuz as the Iranian regime strives to retain control of the strait and preserve its own blockade.
Brent Crude went down to $89.6 during the weekend as hostilities in the Persian Gulf waned down. Hostilities are still being reported in Yemen. Some oil-tankers are now avoiding altogether from navigating through the Bab al-Mandeb Strait.
