The Nationalist Opposition’s shadow cabinet has yesterday met with the Chamber of Commerce to discuss the ongoing national electricity crisis. The meeting follows another meeting between the Chamber of Commerce and the government’s cabinet of ministers.
During the meeting, the Nationalist Party reiterated the current model based on population-growth is unsutainable and that the government did not plan for the infrastructural needs for the current population levels.
The Labour government intends to keep increasing the local population up to 800,000 people by importing more foreign workers. The Nationalist Party is against this model and seeks an economic growth model based on increased productivity to lower population levels.
