The grain terminal in the Russian port of Novorossiysk is out of service after it was attacked by a massive drone attack on the night of 11th-12rth August. The Ukrainian drone strike struck the grain terminal, oil terminal facilities and also four Russian naval ships.
Novorossiysk’s grain terminal exports up to one-third of all of Russian grain exports. The port has also been used to export stolen grain from Ukraine.
Russia is suffering from severe fuel shortages due to Ukraine’s systematic attacks against its oil industry and is filling its gaps by importing refined fuels from countries such Kazakhstan and India. The US has pressured Ukraine not to continue with its campaign against Russia’s oil industry but especially not to strike the foreign-owned oil-cargo vessels delivering fuel to Russia. Ukraine said that it will not be striking foreign-owned vessels but will continue with its campaign and reserves the right to strike at sanctioned Russian oil tankers.
