Tarxien Square Cistern to be roofed with concrete: Mark Anthony Sammut demands investigation

The cistern’s ceiling that collapsed last week during road works in Tarxien Square will be roofed with concrete according to vigilante archeologist Conrad Neil Gatt. The cistern previously had a traditionally-built ceiling, but Transport Malta has not confirmed that it will be restored to its original state.

Opposition MP Mark Anthony Sammut along with PN Tarxien Local Councillor Glenn Gerald Urry is calling for an investigation into the incident in order to ensure that it does not happen again.

The ceiling of the cistern collapsed during works by Infrastructure Malta conducted by Bonnici Brothers.
