Putin bombs Kyiv with ballistic missiles after Steve Witkoff describes him as a “humanitarian”

Yesterday in Moscow, US President Donald Trump’s special envoy, Steve Witkoff, met with Vladimir Putin alongside Jared Kushner to discuss Ukraine’s capitulation. In his introductory and televised statements, Steve Witkoff praised Vladimir Putin and called him a humanitarian.

US President Donald Trump is pressuring Ukraine to capitulate while Starlink’s service in Ukraine is still disrupted.

Later during the night night, Russia bombed Kyiv with ballistic missiles. The strikes hit transport infrastructure in the Darnytskyi district, while residential properties and civilian businesses were damaged in the Dniprovskyi district. At least six people were injured in the initial attacks, four of whom were hospitalised, according to Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko. Further Russian missile and drone strikes continued into the early hours of Thursday, damaging a medical facility and setting a restaurant building ablaze.

Russia is repeating last year’s tactic of escalating its bombings on Ukrainian civilians as Ukraine is pressured by Donald Trump to capitulate.
