“Everything is ours. You are strangers in this pure and blessed land. There is no place or safety for you.” – Hamas

Something important that I have missed in my coverage of Hamas’ war against Israel is Hamas’ declaration of war against Israel which was broadcast in full on Al Jazeera (the Arabic channel). Middle East Monitor has produced a full translation here. Al Jazeera didn’t broadcast the speech on the English language channel for obvious reasons.

Al Jazeera is owned by the Qatari state (basically, the royal family), and Qatar is the main backer and supporter of Hamas. Hamas also has its international HQ in Doha, Qatar. The Arabic version of Al Jazeera is like an Islamic version of Fox News while the English language channel is moderated for a Western audience.

Hamas’ full deceleration of war as pronounced by Ismail Haniyeh is a call for genocide against the Jews in Israel and Palestine. The wording and intent are very clear. Note how Hamas’ red line is not the suffering of Palestinians, but the desecration of Al-Aqsa Mosque.

The speech also confirms that Hamas wanted to disrupt Israel’s deal with Saudi Arabia and this is also consistent with my reporting that Iran supported and instigated this war with the intent to scuttle an Israeli and Saudi deal.

Hamas does not want peace with Israel and their antisemitic ideology is very clear. The eradication of Hamas will be good for everyone in the region, especially Palestinians.

  1. HAMAS (The Islamic Resistance Movement) charter is anything but about democracy and freedom. The 1988 Hamas Covenant is very clear on what their beliefs and values are.
