As Joseph Muscat gets more desperate, stressed, and angry at the looming prospect of imprisonment, he continues to build a criminal case against Angelo Gafa for collusion with organised crime, and for abusing his position as Police Commissioner to cover up for a whole class of corrupt-political criminals.
Joseph Muscat is now insisting that Angelo Gafa has to investigate him “on his own”.ย On the other hand, Angelo Gafa has literally abdicated from his duties and has unilaterally decided not to conduct any criminal investigation on corruption and politicians’ links with organised crime. Instead, Gafa is taking action only as prescribed by inquiring magistrates who are being forced to launch investigations by civil society. Joseph Muscat prefers his old and original set-up: to be investigated by his own appointee in the Police instead of being investigated by a magistrate whom he can not bribe or buy.
