Why is the Archbishop blessing a project by a major Labour Party donor?

Did Archbishop Charles Scicluna strike a land deal with the government that was big enough to buy his silence? Scicluna became Archbishop after a clerical coup that ousted Archbishop Paul Cremona for being too soft on the Labour government. Now, the clerical fighters who wanted a political Archbishop are sorely disappointed. Charles Scicluna hasn’t made a critical statement about the government for some time, and now he is seen blessing projects of Labour Party donors with the Prime Minister himself.

Yesterday, Archbishop Charles Scicluna blessed the new Fortina Hotel in Sliema by the ?ammit Tabonas who are major Labour Party donors. The ?ammit Tabonas were also handed over the coastline in front of the hotel for a yacht marina, handed to them single-handedly by the Minister for the Economy, Silvio Schembri.

What is the crap with blessing new buildings? Total bollocks. I have some time for the Archbishop. Strikes me as one of the good guys. Perhaps I’m a sucker for a round, smiling face. Please, Archbishop, show some mettle.

  2. Last June 23 el Bovril blessed Polidano’s new offices (situated in the midst of a multitude of illegal buildings) at hal-farrug. These new offices were inaugurated by the great RA himself flanked by his charming wife and supported by Emeritus Marie L. Coleiro. Probably he will now bless Mercury Towers next. Worse than a corrupt inept politician is a spiritual leader who is their lackey. Any priest could have sprinkled some holy water around why did el Bovril opt to go himself?
