To Dom Mintoff those were not friends but convenient pawns to achieve his diplomatic strategies.

Thank you for those pictures which remind me of the true soldiers of steel and glory days when even the British and Nato had to reluctantly cough up what was due to Malta. Dom Mintoff was a true patriot, a leader and a statesman. On the International political scene he was respected as a tough negotiator as well as a statesman. His cabinet was not composed of incompetent infantile leeches eager to loot and plunder. Under Dom Mintoff the local business cabal mainly composed of family run businesses, did not call the shots and dictate the national agenda. Under his leadership workers were proud to belong to the Malta Labour party. The Malta Labour Party under Dom Mintoff was not infested by turncoats, snowflakes and opportunists of all shapes and sizes. In 1971 the Malta Labour Party under Dom Mintoff’s leadership on its own, won the GE against the Nazzs, the Church the British and Nato. A true victory to the workers power, unity and resilience. Dom Mintoff and the Malta Labour party did not need to undertake any faustinian pacst to win the GE in those days.
