Police Commissioner Angelo Gafa is dropping all his pretenses of being a neutral police officer. Today, Prime Minister Robert Abela, confirmed with other journalists as he was questioned about his undeclared wealth, that Adrian Delia is being investigated by the police over suspicions of money laundering. The investigation was sparked with the publication of chats about payments Yorgen Fenech had made to Adrian Delia and Pierre Portelli in order to prevent David Casa from getting reelected as an MEP. The police had these chats way before they were published, but they have been compelled to investigate only after they have been published.
This is another admission by the police that the publication of the chats has been necessary to bring about justice for the corrupt politicians who were bribed and conspired with Yorgen Fenech. As I said once, if Angelo Gafa had done his job, I wouldn’t have had any chats to publish because they would have already been presented in court in multiple court cases the police are opening.
What’s very interesting about the police investigation on Adrian Delia is that the police are not investigating Rosianne Cutajar for bribery and corruption. Neither are they investigating her for fraud over her ITS contract. On the other hand, Adrian Delia seems to be expendable to the Labour Party’s criminal network, but they are most probably after him for being the PN’s face in their court case against the government over the public hospitals fraud.
