Cry me a river Mariella Dimech

Mariella Dimech, Saviour Balzan’s sister, wants us to feel sorry for her about (allegedly) criticism against her in the press for her role as the Chairman of the cannabis authority. She is a psychotherapist who works on rehabilitating drug users and was paid €100,000 a year to head an agency that was supposed to license cannabis growers and sellers in Malta.

She seems to be similar to her brother in some way. She described criticism of her as being unfair and motivated to hurt her brother. Just like her corrupt brother who doubles as Yorgen Fenech’s communications chief while pretending to run an independent media company, she blames her failures and her problems on everything and everyone else, except for herself.

What she should say, instead of blaming criticism at her on grudges against her brother, is that the only reason why she was appointed was because, in fact, she is Saviour Balzan’s sister. In fact, she also has a long history of getting many things from the government – just like her brother.

The local cannabis authority is not in the business of rehabilitating people or promoting education on drugs – that’s the responsibility of other agencies and entities that work on drug rehabilitation and drug education. The cannabis authority is meant to license and regulate the sale and distribution of cannabis – of which she knows nothing about.

In fact, Mariella Dimech was dismissed from her post due to her incompetence and this can also be confirmed, by basically, all the people involved in the cannabis lobby. Her appointment, made strictly out of nepotism and personal and political preference was wrong from day one and she should have never been appointed in that position in the first place.

One day we will have a government were government posts are filled with actual competent and relevant people, and we will be getting rid of all the Saviour Balzans and the Marielle Dimechs who feel entitled to get rich from the public purse.
