It’s over too for the outlandish-women-hating district court magistrate Joe Mifsud

In one of the last outlandish statements he will ever make in a district court, Magistrate Joe Mifsud stated that dangerous teenagers (they are 16 years old and older) who knifed and robbed another boy in Valletta, don’t deserve to be jailed because they and society are better off if they go back to their studies.

It’s impressive how this magistrate believes that women who have abortions ought to be imprisoned but dangerous teenagers shouldn’t be in prison because they ought to be studying.

Couldn’t they study in prison though? It’s not as if prison and studying are mutually exclusive, in fact, studying in prison is one of the only things you can do due to the limited access to resources available to you.

In any case, Joe Mifsud’s days of saying stupid things in court will soon be over as he will be transferred to a full-time inquiring Magistrate with no court duties.

The date when the judicial reshuffle will be effective is February 19th.
