The US is still sending weapons to Israel even though President Biden has said that Israel’s actions in Gaza have been “over the top”. Effectively, the US is showing that it is ineffective in punishing its close ally for crimes it knows very well that it has committed. The US defense intelligence and reporting branches have closely followed and recorded the activities in Gaza to a great extent and are fully aware of the crimes committed by the IDF.
In practice, it would be contentious to raise this issue just now when votes would have been needed for military aid to Ukraine. The current US military aid to Israel will make no difference whatsoever on the battlefield in Gaza as the IDF close in the last pockets controlled by Hamas and Hamas’ leader in Gaza, Yahwa Sinwar has also fled his bunker HQ. It’s more effective as a political gesture, but which eventually, will not save Benjamin Netanyahu and his government.
