So, today, the Minister for Tourism Clayton Bartolo gave a press conference at the Labour Party Headquarters along with MEP candidate Steve Ellul. They bragged about the fact that tourism figures have hit record levels – no shit Sherlock. Malta has been hitting tourist arrival records on a very regular basis ever since its recorded history.
In any case, that the tourism industry is making a comeback is not a particular Labour thing: tourism is making a strong comeback in many countries in the Mediterranean including Italy, Spain, and Cyprus. Continued instability in North Africa also and always boosts Malta’s tourist arrivals and this is also currently helping.
Also, interesting is how they bring up Steve Ellul to announce statistical figures in a sort of way to make the press conference seem to be more “professional”.
