Alex Agius Saliba should be reminded that Malta is a sovereign state (not a Russian colony)

Alex Agius Saliba, a Labour Party, and S&D MEP, should be reminded that Malta is a sovereign state and can act as it pleases and decides, regardless of whether the Russians approve or not.

Alex Agius Saliba is against Opposition MP, Beppe Fenech Adami’s proposal to rename the street where the Russian embassy is located to “Alexei Navalny Street”. Currently, the street is named “Antonio Schembri Street” and it’s in San ?wann (Kappara). There used to be a nice park in front of the embassy that can also be named after Anna Politkovskaya if the park is still there. Anna Politkovskaya is another journalist that Putin murdered, and in total, Putin murdered around 21 journalists since we were in power.

The Labour Party is increasingly acting as a Russian apologist as we head into the MEP elections. This behavior, apart from being reckless and irresponsible, is very suspicious as it augments in the year of a European Parliament election.

Unfortunately, you can notice that Malta is slowly, slowly going direction left especially pro-Russian, and anti-west. In my opinion, this is coming from three different directions. The first obvious direction is the labour party which under Mintoff changed from wishing full integration with the British to an anti-British sentiment. Later the concept of non-aligned was introduced as an excuse to get us closer to the likes of Libya, China, North Korea & Russia

Second factor is the fact that about a decade ago a sizeable portion of Russians moved to Malta and bought lots of property at high prices. You can see their writings in many FB forums attacking the British in any way they can. Trying to make it look like Malta under the British was a horror.

The third factor is the new Serbian community who are clearly pro-Russia. Many of these are married to Maltese and so in theory have voting rights. The idea being spread is that if we stay neutral, we are safe. Well tell that to Georgia and Moldovia.

Being Neutral and anti-European Military build-up helps only one nation and we all know who has his eyes on Europe.
